About the Role

Come grow our autonomous drone management solution by leading our research and development teams to deliver new and exciting autonomous flight and machine learning products. Software developed at Airtonomy is used to interface with our autonomous robots and support their safe operation. You will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle for both internal and customer facing projects, working with our engineers and management to develop unique new products and solutions.


  • Manage the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, management of scope and timeline, monitoring and controlling, testing, deployment, and delivery.

  • Convert business requirements and constraints of projects into engineering tasks.

  • Diagram and document project plans to share with team members.

  • Identify project resourcing needs and engineering assignments.

  • Be a leader within a team of engineers, business analysts, and researchers.

  • Participate in proposal writing and business development activities for new and existing customers.

  • Execute on project SOWs as Airtonomy’s main point of contact with a focus on customer success.

  • Report on key milestones and progress to internal and external stakeholders.


  • 4+ years’ experience in project management

  • Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS)

  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously in a start-up environment

  • Well-versed in putting Agile methodologies in to practice

  • A self-starter with experience managing technically complex integration problems

  • Exquisite written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer-focused mentality

  • Experience successfully managing both senior and junior level developers

  • Experience with version control tools like GitHub

  • Exposure to multiple software architectures and deployments (cloud, on-premise, mobile, desktop, edge)

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with robotics, aviation, or machine learning

  • Experience with source control management (Git)

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience with live web applications

  • Experience with drones or other robotic control software

  • Experience with machine learning
